Very sorry to hear of the 2nd class of '93 member to pass away in 2012.  I attended school with Megan since grade school and have found memories of her from back in the day.  Thoughts and prayers to all of her family and those who knew her.  Very sad to see her taken so young.

A Memorial Service for Megan Renee Cuevas, 36, of Marble Rock, was held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, February 6, 2012, at Reid’s Funeral Chapel in Greene, IA with Pastor Judy Wooton officiating.

Megan was born February 5, 1975, in Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, a daughter of Rande Glen and Vicki Lynn (Austin) Lekwa and passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012, at the North Iowa Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.

She received her education in public school graduating from Mason City High School in 1993. Megan continued her education at Apollo College in Mesa, Arizona earning her Medical Assistant Diploma. Following graduation she worked at Banner Baywood Hospital for approximately two years.

Megan met Rene Cuevas when the two worked at Armor in Mason City. Although working different shifts they met, fell in love, were married, and have celebrated 14 anniversaries together. In November of 2010 the couple moved to Marble Rock where Megan secured employment at Whitetail’s as a cook.

She enjoyed reading, caring for her two cats and dogs, but most of all she loved to spend time with her nieces and nephew. Megan was very family oriented.

Megan is survived by husband, Rene, of Marble Rock; her parents, Rande and Vicki Lekwa, of Mason City; one sister, Michelle (Martin) Padilla, of Mason City; two nieces, Olivia Padilla, Sandra Padilla; one nephew, Zach Smith; several Aunts and Uncles; loving pets, Steeler, Scooby, Baba, and Nanny.

She is preceded in death by both her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Megan Renee Cuevas Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 85, Marble Rock, Iowa 50653.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Chapel, 519 N. First St. Greene, Iowa.
